How is leadership measured?

The application will require students to demonstrate leadership during their high school years.

There are many kinds of leadership, including but not limited to:

Organizing

As an advocate for positive change

Academics

Through excellence in the classroom

Service

Through community involvement and support of others

Artistic

Through excellence in music, visual art or other artistic forms

Athletic

By serving as a captain, through leadership on the field/court, or otherwise demonstrating leadership in sports

Military preparation

Through leadership at ROTC

Students will be asked in their scholarship application to write about their leadership experiences and will also be asked for a recommendation from one adult who has witnessed their leadership in action. High school transcripts and activity sheets will be an additional tool to assess students effort, perseverance, and commitment to their studies – all values that contribute to college and career success.
