How does the scholarship evaluation process work?
Scholarship awards will be made by a selection committee composed of two members of the Jordan family and at least three individuals nominated by Danbury community and education organizations. Referring organizations will be encouraged to nominate committee members from historically marginalized communities. The only restriction on eligibility is that candidates must not have relatives applying for the scholarship in that year.
The committee will carefully evaluate students’ applications, conduct interviews, and select income-eligible students with demonstrated leadership in one or more of the leadership areas listed above. Committee members will be charged to give priority to students from historically marginalized groups who bring a variety of perspectives, and to ensure a gender balance of awardees.
